Rebecca Campbell

Rebecca Campbell is a talented and experienced litigator who has been with our office since its inception in 2000. Her practice is in general litigation, both civil and criminal, with a heavy emphasis on sentencing proceedings and appellate matters. She is a superb brief-writer who has presented an amicus curiae brief to the United States Supreme Court in support of a successful petition for writ of certiorari, in addition to briefing numerous cases in federal courts of appeal, federal district courts and state courts. She has also served as President of the Bayport-Blue Point School Board in Suffolk County, New York.

Prior to joining the practice, Ms. Campbell was a litigation associate at Covington & Burling in Washington for six years. There, she maintained a general litigation practice that included insurance, ERISA and white collar criminal defense work, in addition to substantial pro bono work for the National Organization for Women, Head Start and the Neighborhood Legal Services program.

Ms. Campbell received a bachelor's degree in economics from the College of William & Mary, a master's degree from the London School of Economics and her law degree from the University of Virginia. Ms. Campbell was an editor of the Virginia Law Review and the author of a published note, "Airport Drug Searches: Giving Content to the Concept of Free and Voluntary Consent." She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable James C. Cacheris of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
